Google Unveils ‘Martha’ Prototype That Sees Everything You See

Google revealed its new smart glasses prototype at Google I/O 2025. The company calls the device “Google Martha.”

The glasses run on Google’s Android XR platform. They have a screen in the right lens only. Users can see information and interact with AI features through this display.

Martha connects to a smartphone app. The app handles notifications and settings. It also lets users record videos from their point of view. The glasses show what the user sees plus digital information on top.

The smart glasses use Google’s Gemini AI. This lets users identify objects in the real world and get live translations. Users can ask questions about what they see around them.

Google Martha is just a prototype. The company will not sell these glasses to consumers. They serve as a test for future products.

Reports suggest Google and Samsung are working together on consumer smart glasses. These might launch in 2026. Google has not confirmed these plans.

Other companies are also making smart glasses. XReal has Project Aura in development. Samsung is working on Project Moohan.

The glasses represent Google’s push into augmented reality. The company wants to compete with Meta and Apple in the smart glasses market.
