Google Pixel Weather App

Google’s advanced Weather app, initially exclusive to the Pixel 9 series, is now rolling out to older Pixel devices starting from the Pixel 6. The expansion marks a significant upgrade to Google’s weather service offerings.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive weather data (precipitation, wind speed, UV index)
  • Air quality monitoring
  • Sunrise/sunset times
  • Humidity and air pressure readings
  • Interactive 10-day forecasts
  • Radar-based precipitation maps
  • Customizable location tracking
  • Daily weather forecast notifications
  • Real-time precipitation alerts
  • Dark/light theme options

The app allows users to track multiple locations simultaneously and features an interactive weather map with precipitation radar. Users can animate future weather patterns and zoom across continents while maintaining their marked locations.

While most features are available across supported devices, the AI-powered weather overviews remain exclusive to Pixel 9 phones, as they require the built-in Gemini Nano model. These AI summaries provide context-aware weather interpretations at the top of forecasts.

The evening notification system delivers a detailed widget showing next-day forecasts, helping users plan. Additionally, the precipitation alert system can be customized for multiple saved locations, providing timely warnings for incoming rain or snow.
