Google has officially launched Gemini 2.5 Pro, making its advanced AI model available to more users around the world.
Gemini 2.5 Pro first entered testing back in March. Since then, Google has been improving the model, especially for coding tasks, math, and reasoning. After several updates, the stable version has now arrived with no major changes from its last preview earlier this month.
With this launch, Gemini 2.5 Pro no longer carries the “preview” label in the Gemini app. It follows last month’s release of Gemini 2.5 Flash, which focuses on quick, general help. In comparison, Gemini 2.5 Pro is designed for more complex tasks like reasoning and coding.
Free users of the Gemini app will still have limited access to Gemini 2.5 Pro. However, those who subscribe to AI Pro will get 100 prompts per day, while AI Ultra subscribers get the most usage.
Developers also get access to Gemini 2.5 Flash with updated pricing. It now costs $0.30 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens. Google has simplified pricing and removed old pricing differences based on complexity.
Additionally, developers can preview Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite. This version is built for tasks like translation and classification where speed and cost matter most. Flash Lite offers faster performance than previous versions and supports tools like Google Search grounding, code execution, and multimodal input.
With Gemini 2.5 Pro now officially launched, Google is signaling its continued focus on making advanced AI available to both everyday users and developers.
