With Gemini 3 Launch, Google Brings Agent-Style AI to Search and Development

Google Gemini 3

Google has introduced Gemini 3, its most advanced artificial intelligence model to date, and is integrating it into core products — including Google Search — from day one.

Gemini 3 represents a significant step forward in AI reasoning, coding, and multimodal understanding, according to Google executives. CEO Sundar Pichai described it as the company’s “most intelligent model.”

Key Improvements Over Previous Versions

  • Advanced reasoning: Gemini 3 can handle more complex, multi-step problems, showing a deeper understanding of context.
  • Multimodal capabilities: It processes and reasons over multiple types of data — including text, images, video, and code.
  • Agentic behaviour: The model can act more like an assistant, coordinating tasks and using external tools.
  • Improved safety: Google says Gemini 3 is more robust against misuse, with better defenses against prompt manipulation.

New Features Introduced with Gemini 3

  • Generative, interactive interfaces: In response to many queries, Gemini 3 can build rich, dynamic layouts — for example, a visual itinerary for a trip or an interactive “gallery” of Van-Gogh artworks.
  • Gemini Agent: A new assistant within the Gemini app that can perform linked tasks such as managing email, scheduling, and booking appointments.
  • AI Mode in Search: For users of Google’s premium AI plan, Gemini 3 supports a special search mode that uses its generative powers to deliver more visual and structured responses (e.g., tables, simulations) rather than just text.
  • Antigravity IDE: Google is also launching Antigravity, a new development environment built around Gemini 3 Pro. It allows multiple AI “agents” to work in parallel, accessing the editor, terminal, and browser — and generates “artifacts” (plans, recordings, etc.) so users can track what the agents are doing.
  • Deep Think mode (coming soon): Google plans a variant of Gemini 3 called “Deep Think” for even more powerful reasoning and planning.

Broader Implications

  • For users, the integration into Search promises a more interactive, visually rich experience.
  • For developers, Antigravity could change how AI is used in software development, giving agents more autonomy and transparency.
  • For Google, launching Gemini 3 with immediate integration into revenue-driving products signals a strong push to make AI central to its services.
