Google has confirmed that a recent battery drain issue on Android phones, especially Pixel devices, was caused by the app. The company says Instagram has now released an update to fix the problem.

The issue made some phones lose battery faster than usual. Users reported the problem mostly after using Instagram. Google said in a support post that the problem has been solved with Instagram’s new version.

The fixed version is 382.0.0.49.84. Users can download it now from the Google Play Store. If you don’t see the update, it might mean your app is already up to date.

To check your Instagram version, long-press the app, tap “App info”, and scroll down to see the version number.

This update should stop Instagram from using too much battery in the background.
