Google Announces Improved Android Device Transfer Experience

19
Welcome to Android

Google plans to expand its data transfer capabilities across Android devices in 2025, building on features first introduced with the Pixel 9 series.

Users will now be able to copy data from another device even after initial phone setup.

The new Android Switch experience allows users to “check out your new phone first and transfer your data later.” Users can initiate post-setup data transfers through Settings or the Android Switch app from the Play Store.

Key improvements include a faster iPhone-to-Android transfer process, now 40% quicker than in 2023, and an express setup option that transfers only device-stored information.

Google emphasizes the feature will help users seamlessly migrate important data like chats, calendars, contacts, Wi-Fi settings, and account information.

This update represents a significant enhancement in Android’s device migration experience, offering more flexibility and convenience for smartphone users.
