Gigi Hadid has spoken out after she and her sister Bella were mentioned in the newly released Epstein files. Being named in the files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
Since the start of 2025, the US Department of Justice has released over three million documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, naming numerous high-profile figures.
The sisters appeared in a 2015 email exchange between convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and an unnamed individual, who asked how Gigi and Bella had become successful models. Epstein replied that it was because they “follow directions.”
In a now-deleted Instagram comment, Gigi responded after a fan said they had unfollowed her due to her silence on the matter.
“Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,” she wrote, according to E! News.
She said being named in the files was “disturbing,” adding: “I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.”
Gigi said she was just 20 or 21 years old at the time of the email, and acknowledged growing up privileged but insisted she had “worked hard every moment” since signing with a modelling agency in 2012.
