    Half-Life 2

As 2024 wraps up, gamers are looking ahead to 2025 with hope for fresh entries in some of their favorite franchises.

Despite a year of underwhelming releases, fans are eager for the return of these beloved series. Here are seven games players want to see make a comeback in 2025.

    1. Jak and Daxter
This classic platformer duo has been absent since 2009. Fans are still hoping for a new adventure for Jak and Daxter, as the franchise continues to hold a special place in the hearts of platforming enthusiasts.

    2. Rayman
Rayman Legends was the last main entry in this series, released in 2013. Though spinoffs have kept the franchise alive, fans are eager for a return to the original games, with rumors suggesting it could happen soon.

    3. Sly Cooper
The last Sly Cooper game, Thieves in Time, came out in 2013. Since then, fans have been waiting for a new installment of this stealthy raccoon and his daring heists. Despite rumors of TV adaptations, a new game is what fans are truly craving.

    4. Half-Life
After Half-Life: Alyx in 2020, fans are ready for a traditional first-person shooter entry. Many gamers are still waiting for the next chapter in the Half-Life series, hoping for a return to its classic FPS roots.

    5. Unreal Tournament
The Unreal Tournament series defined multiplayer FPS action in the early 2000s. The last installment, Unreal Tournament 3, was released in 2007. Fans are still hoping for a true return to the franchise, with a focus on multiplayer combat.

    6. Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell: Blacklist was the last entry in this stealth action series, released in 2013. Though a remake of the first game is in the works, fans are eager for a new chapter in Sam Fisher’s story.

    7. Shenmue
Shenmue III came out in 2019 after a successful crowdfunding campaign, but fans are still longing for more. With a dedicated fanbase and a recent anime adaptation, the demand for a new Shenmue game remains strong.
