Fortnite’s Winterfest event has taken an unexpected turn with Mariah Carey making a festive appearance—literally defrosted from a block of ice.
The queen of Christmas kicks off the holiday season in Fortnite with an in-game performance of All I Want For Christmas Is You.
The Defrosting Event
Instead of a typical crossover event, Mariah Carey is introduced in Fortnite’s regular battle royale mode.
Players can visit the ice block marked by a blue beam of light on the map, where Carey emerges and performs her iconic Christmas hit.
New Skins and Free Gifts
A Mariah Carey skin bundle is available for purchase as part of the Winterfest celebrations. Snoop Dogg also joins the festivities with a Santa-themed cosmetic, which can be earned for free by logging in daily during Winterfest.
Players can unlock two free skins, the Yulejacket and Santa Dogg, by opening daily presents.
Winterfest Details
Fortnite Winterfest 2024 runs until January 7, 2025, and features daily challenges, store bundles, and festive presents. It’s a bizarre yet fitting addition to Fortnite’s already eccentric lineup of crossovers.
