Former Astronomer CEO Plans to Sue Coldplay Over Viral Kiss Cam Clip

Andy Byron (Ex-CEO of Astronomer) and Coldplay

Andy Byron, the former CEO of software company Astronomer, is reportedly planning to sue Coldplay and the event organizers over a viral kiss cam video from the band’s July 16, 2025 concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The video, filmed during Coldplay’s performance, shows Byron embracing HR chief Kristin Cabot. After the clip appeared on the stadium screen, frontman Chris Martin joked, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”

The video quickly spread online and sparked rumors of an affair, as both individuals are married to other people. Soon after the video went viral, both Byron and Cabot resigned from their roles at Astronomer.

Byron now claims the moment caused him emotional distress and was an invasion of privacy. He believes he was unfairly targeted and turned into an internet joke without his consent.

However, legal experts say the case may be weak. Since the concert was a public event with tens of thousands of people, they say privacy expectations were low. One lawyer called the lawsuit a “long shot.”

Social media users on X have widely mocked Byron’s reaction, with many saying he is blaming others for his own actions. Some posts sarcastically say, “Coldplay forced him to have an affair.”

Coldplay has not released an official comment about the situation.
