Formula 1 fans in the United States will soon be able to watch races live in IMAX theaters for the first time. The new experience comes through a partnership between Apple TV+ and IMAX.
The deal will allow fans to watch select races from the 2026 Formula One World Championship on giant IMAX screens. The move aims to bring the speed, sound, and atmosphere of Formula 1 to a cinema setting.
Five major Grands Prix will be shown live: Miami, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, and Austin. These races are among the most famous on the F1 calendar and attract millions of viewers worldwide.
At least 50 IMAX locations across the United States will participate in the program. Fans will experience the races with enhanced visuals and powerful sound, creating a more immersive viewing environment than traditional TV broadcasts.
The partnership reflects Formula 1’s growing popularity in the US. The sport has gained new fans in recent years due to expanded media coverage, streaming access, and major events like the Miami and Austin races.
Officials say the goal is to make Formula 1 more accessible and exciting for fans. If successful, the IMAX broadcasts could expand to more races and locations in the future.
