Everything You Need to Know About Fortnite’s Ballistic Mode

Fortnite has released a new game mode called Ballistic. It’s a 5v5 tactical shooter, similar to popular games like Valorant and CS:GO. In this mode, players fight in first-person view, and there is no building. The focus is on shooting, teamwork, and strategy.

How Does Ballistic Work?

In Ballistic, players play in rounds. Each round is either attacking or defending. There are no respawns until the round ends. To win, a team must win 7 rounds.

If you’re on the attacking team, your job is to plant the “Rift Point Device” at one of the bomb sites. The defending team must stop you or defuse the device if it gets planted. The Rift Point Device takes 45 seconds to explode after it is planted.

The match ends when one team wins 7 rounds. After 6 rounds, the teams switch roles, so everyone gets to try both attacking and defending.

What Do Players Start With?

At the start of each match, all players get a Ranger Pistol and 800 credits. Credits are earned by getting eliminations and completing objectives. Players can spend their credits on new weapons and gadgets each round. If you survive the round, you keep your gear, but not consumable items like grenades.

New Map: Skyline 10

The Ballistic mode launches with a new map called Skyline 10. It features two bomb sites, A and B. This map will be the only one available at launch. More maps are planned for the future.

Weapons and Gadgets in Ballistic

In Ballistic, players can choose from various weapons, such as assault rifles, shotguns, SMGs, and snipers. You can also use gadgets like smoke grenades and flashbangs.

There are special gadgets called Flex Gadgets. Players choose one of these at the start of each match. Options include proximity mines, bubble shields, and recon grenades. These gadgets are unique to each player and can’t be shared with teammates.

Ranked and Unranked Modes

Ballistic offers two modes: ranked and unranked. Ranked mode gives players a chance to compete for a higher rank, but leaving a ranked match early will result in penalties. In unranked mode, there are no penalties, and players can leave without consequences.

Will Ballistic Be Permanent?

It’s unclear if Ballistic will stay in Fortnite permanently. The developers are testing the mode and will use player feedback to improve it. If it’s popular, it may become a permanent part of the game.

Fortnite’s Ballistic mode brings a fresh experience to the game, moving away from building and focusing on tactical gameplay. If you’re a fan of first-person shooters, Ballistic is definitely worth trying.
