Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla, has caused a stir by changing his name to “Kekius Maximus” on his social media platform, X.

The move, which includes a new profile image of Pepe the Frog dressed in Roman military attire, has left many speculating about its meaning.

The name “Kekius” seems to be a Latinized version of “kek,” a term popularized by gamers that roughly translates to “laugh out loud.” The term has since become associated with alt-right groups.

Additionally, “Kek” is the name of an ancient Egyptian god of darkness, often depicted with the head of a frog. The “Maximus” part of the name could be a reference to the iconic character Maximus Decimus Meridius from the film Gladiator.

Musk’s new profile image features Pepe the Frog, a meme that has been linked to far-right movements, adding another layer of intrigue.

While Musk has not provided an explanation for the name change, the move has had a notable impact on the cryptocurrency world.

The value of a memecoin with the same name, “Kekius Maximus,” has surged, though it is unclear whether Musk has any involvement with this particular digital currency.

Musk has previously influenced cryptocurrency prices through his social media activity, but it remains to be seen whether this latest development is connected to the memecoin or is simply a personal statement.
