ElevenLabs Drops New Mobile App That Turns Text Into Voice in Seconds

Voice AI company ElevenLabs has released a new mobile app that lets users create voice clips directly from their phones.

The app works on both iOS and Android devices. Users can type or paste text, pick a voice, and generate audio clips instantly. Before this launch, people could only use ElevenLabs’ voice tools through a web browser.

How the App Works

The process is simple. Users enter their text and choose from ElevenLabs’ voice library. The app then creates an audio clip using AI technology.

Free users get about 10 minutes of voice generation. The app shares credit limits with the web version, so users can switch between platforms easily.

The app includes access to ElevenLabs’ newest v3 alpha models. These allow users to control voice expressions using special tags.

Why ElevenLabs Built the App

Jack McDermott, the company’s mobile growth lead, said many creators were already using mobile browsers to make voice clips. They wanted to use these clips in video apps like CapCut, Instagram, and InShot.

“We’ve seen an explosion of creativity from our community,” McDermott said. “Content creators, marketers, educators, and voice artists asked for a faster, more intuitive mobile experience.”

Competition and Future Plans

The app puts ElevenLabs in direct competition with other voice tools like Speechify and Captions.

This is ElevenLabs’ second consumer app. Last year, they released Reader, which turns articles and books into audio. Publishers can now use Reader to distribute audiobooks.

The company plans to add more features soon, including speech-to-text tools and conversational AI agents.
