EA Prioritizes Sims 4 Content Over New Sequel

Electronic Arts (EA) recently shared why they have not made a sequel to The Sims 4 and why The Sims 5 might not arrive soon.

Laura Miele, EA’s Entertainment President, told Variety that launching The Sims 5 would not be “player friendly.”

She said millions of players have spent years creating content and buying over 85 content packs in The Sims 4. Starting a new game would mean losing all that progress and content.

Miele explained that resetting everything would upset many players. Instead of releasing a new game, EA plans to focus on a Sims movie starring Margot Robbie.

The company is also considering bringing other popular games like Apex Legends to Hollywood.
