DOJ: No Epstein Client List, Death Was Suicide, Not Murder

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have found no evidence that Jeffrey Epstein kept a so-called “client list” or that he was murdered while in custody, according to a newly released government memo.

The memo states that a detailed review of government-held Epstein materials uncovered no proof of blackmail against public figures and no justification to launch investigations into other uncharged individuals.

Despite widespread conspiracy theories, the memo reaffirms that Epstein died by suicide in a New York federal jail on August 10, 2019. The FBI says this conclusion is supported by existing video evidence showing no one entered Epstein’s housing tier from 10:40 p.m. the night before until 6:30 a.m. the next morning.

The announcement directly contradicts earlier remarks by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who claimed in a February 2025 interview that an Epstein “client list” was on her desk awaiting review. DOJ officials did not comment further when contacted by USA TODAY.

The DOJ and FBI also stated that while their investigation uncovered more than 10,000 illegal videos and images involving child sex abuse, they found no grounds to release additional documents to the public. The agencies emphasized that they will not disclose child pornography or sensitive information about the victims.

In total, investigators reviewed over 300 gigabytes of data, including hard drives, databases, and physical storage areas. The review confirmed prior findings that Epstein abused more than 1,000 victims, many of whom were minors.

The report comes amid renewed political tensions. Billionaire Elon Musk, a former Trump adviser, has publicly criticized the lack of major revelations in the latest Epstein files. He recently accused the Trump administration of hiding information and later deleted a post claiming Trump’s name appears in the Epstein files.

Attorney General Bondi has faced mounting pressure from supporters of former President Donald Trump to uncover damaging information from the Epstein case. However, the most recent disclosures have not implicated any individuals other than Epstein himself.
