DJ Akademiks has given his take on Young Thug’s deleted tweet aimed at Kid Cudi, which left many fans confused. During a recent livestream, Ak said the message likely stems from Thug’s deepening trust issues following Gunna’s plea deal in the YSL RICO case.
Thug is currently fighting a long legal battle connected to the YSL indictment. In 2022, Gunna took a plea deal that involved calling YSL a gang. Since then, Thug has cut ties with Gunna, and DJ Akademiks believes that betrayal still weighs heavily on him.
That’s why Ak thinks Thug called out Kid Cudi after the artist testified in Diddy’s ongoing trial. “He sees someone else cooperating in court and immediately links it back to what happened with Gunna,” Akademiks told fans. “That’s trauma from feeling betrayed.”
Cudi recently testified about a 2012 incident where his Porsche 911 was blown up by a Molotov cocktail. He said Sean “Diddy” Combs later apologized, though he offered no hard proof tying Diddy to the attack. His testimony supports the claims made by Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex.
Online, fans are split. Some say Cudi isn’t a “rat” because he’s not part of street culture. Others argue that testifying in court makes anyone a snitch, no matter their background. Cudi hasn’t responded to Thug, but he thanked fans for supporting him after court.
