The long-awaited Delta Force: Black Hawk Down remake has launched as a free post-launch expansion, but its release has been met with mostly negative reviews on Steam.
Fans of the original 2003 tactical shooter had high hopes, but the remake’s impossible difficulty, poor performance, and uninspired AI have left many disappointed.
Harsh Criticism from Fans
With over 3,700 reviews on Steam, only 36% of players have given positive feedback, leaving the expansion with a “Mostly Negative” rating.
Players have pointed out that the enemy AI is unfairly accurate, often landing headshots before players can react, while teammate AI is practically useless.
Key complaints include:
- Unpredictable RPG and mortar attacks
- Lack of resupply or health pickups
- Poor voice acting and animation
- Severe performance issues on various systems
Missing the Soul of the Original
One review described the game as lacking the “soul” that made the original beloved. Many hoped the single-player campaign would redeem the multiplayer’s mixed reception, but the remake seems to have fallen short.
Developer Response
As of now, Team Jade hasn’t addressed the backlash, leaving players uncertain if future patches will fix the game’s balancing issues and performance problems.
