Daniel Craig Hints at the Next James Bond at Governors Awards

Daniel Craig stirred up excitement at the 15th Governors Awards by teasing that the next James Bond “might be in the room.” The actor, who portrayed Bond in five films from Casino Royale (2006) to No Time to Die (2021), introduced producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G.

Wilson as they received the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. Craig’s playful remarks left fans speculating, though he had previously stated he doesn’t mind who takes over the iconic role.

Wilson and Broccoli acknowledged the weight of casting a new Bond, emphasizing how each actor has brought something unique to the franchise. The evening also saw actor Colman Domingo humorously pitching himself for either Bond or a villain role.

Broccoli expressed gratitude for the award, which recognizes exceptional producers, noting the legacy of her late father, Albert “Cubby” Broccoli, who received the same honor in 1982.

Alongside the Bond producers, the Governors Awards also honored the late Quincy Jones, casting director Juliet Taylor, and filmmaker Richard Curtis.
