Cyberpunk 2077 Update

Cyberpunk 2077’s Surprise 2.3 Update Opens the Door to More Content

Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the spotlight with the announcement of its 2.3 update, a surprise move that has caught many fans off guard. CD Projekt Red (CDPR), the studio behind the game, had previously said they were done updating the title. Now, that’s changed.

The futuristic RPG had a rough launch in 2020, with bugs and glitches dominating headlines. CDPR spent years fixing the game, leading to major updates like the 2.0 patch and the successful Phantom Liberty DLC in 2023. Most players thought that was the end of the road for Cyberpunk 2077 updates.

But on June 5, CDPR announced that Update 2.3 is coming on June 26. This unexpected move has raised big questions. Could there be more content coming? Is CDPR planning to connect this update to Cyberpunk 2 — also known as Project Orion?

Adding fuel to the fire, rumors suggest that another major DLC might be in development, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

By going back on its earlier promises, CDPR has created fresh excitement — but also new expectations. Some believe this could be a smart move to keep fans engaged before the sequel arrives. Others worry it could be a sign of mixed planning.

Either way, one thing is clear: Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t finished yet. Whether 2.3 is the last update or the start of more surprises, players will find out soon.
