CD Projekt Red has released the unexpected Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077, bringing significant enhancements to player expression through cars, photography, and character customization.
Developed alongside French support studio Virtuos, this update is now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Here are the highlights of the update:
Expanded Car Customization
The update introduces expanded car customization, allowing players to fine-tune their vehicleโs paint job. New features include more color-changing options, such as saturation and hue adjustments.
The CrystalCoat color-changing feature, previously available only for Rayfield cars, is now also available for Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra, and Villefort vehicles.
Players can even copy the color and patterns of other cars while exploring Night City for a small fee, which can help in making a quick getaway from the law.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans will also have 10 new cars to collect, including:

Johnny Silverhand Joins the Ride
Johnny Silverhand will now appear more regularly in your carโaround 25% of the timeโas a passenger. He’ll even offer comments while you cruise around Night City, adding a new layer of interaction to the game.
Overhauled Photo Mode
The photo mode has undergone a major overhaul, offering enhanced features for virtual tourism. In Drone Mode, players can now move far away from V without camera collision. The update also adds:
- Increased camera range and full collision control.
- Lighting and aspect ratio options, with the ability to spawn and pose 20 iconic characters, including Adam Smasher and Us Cracks pop idols.
- New photo framing options to display your images in your apartment, letting you decorate your home with your best shots.
Upgraded Character Customization
Character customization has been expanded with 100 new elements across various categories, including:
- 32 eye colors
- 18 lip makeup types
- 17 nail colors
- 10 cheek makeup types
- 16 eye makeup types
- 4 face scars
- 5 eyebrow shapes
- 4 face tattoos
- 2 body tattoos
- 8 cosmetic face cyberware options
Additionally, a randomizer function allows players to generate a face ranging from โplainโ to โpunkโ on a scale of 1-10.
New Secrets in Night City
CDPR has teased that new secrets and mysteries are hidden throughout Night City, adding more intrigue and exploration to the world.
