CD Projekt RED, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher series, has officially teased a brand-new game—its first-ever original IP.
Currently known as Project Hadar, the game is in its early stages, and while details are scarce, the studio is already hiring new talent to bring the vision to life.
CDPR has been busy, with The Witcher IV and a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel already in development. However, this latest project marks a significant shift as it won’t be based on an existing franchise.
According to job listings, Project Hadar features a “universe bursting with potential,” suggesting a fresh RPG world in the making.
The game will also be developed using Unreal Engine 5, replacing CDPR’s in-house REDengine. This aligns with the studio’s decision to switch engines for The Witcher IV.
With Cyberpunk 2 and The Witcher IV likely years away, it may be a long time before we see Project Hadar in action. But with CDPR’s reputation for immersive worlds, this new IP is definitely one to watch.
