Crystal Reveals How Hugh Hefner Used Food to Signal Sex

Crystal Hefner, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has revealed an unusual way her late husband communicated his sexual desires: through his choice of dinner.

In her memoir, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, Crystal shared that Hugh typically ate a simple meal of tinned chicken noodle soup, crackers, and cream cheese. However, on days when he was in the mood for intimacy, he would switch to a BLT sandwich.

This quirky signal was part of life at the infamous Playboy Mansion, where Crystal lived as Hugh’s “number one girlfriend” before marrying him in 2012. Despite their 60-year age gap, the couple remained together until Hugh’s death in 2017.

Crystal also opened up about the challenges of life in the mansion, including the pressure to participate in group sex sessions. “I did things that I wasn’t comfortable with,” she admitted. “I wasn’t physically attracted to an 80-year-old man. I was just trying to get through it.”

Her memoir sheds light on the strict rules Hugh imposed on his girlfriends and the toll his lifestyle took on his health, including hearing loss from excessive Viagra use.

Crystal’s revelations offer a candid look at the complexities of life with one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century.
