Crunchyroll Sets Global Streaming for ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 3

Jujutsu Kaisen Project

The hit anime series Jujutsu Kaisen will return with its third season in January 2026, Crunchyroll announced during a live-streamed fifth anniversary special.

The new season, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game, will adapt the manga arc of the same name by Gege Akutami. Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the series exclusively worldwide, excluding Asia, with new episodes released weekly in line with the Japanese broadcast.

A teaser trailer offers the first look at the upcoming season, showing Yuji Itadori in turmoil following the events of the “Shibuya Incident.” The footage highlights a battle between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, alongside confrontations involving Naoya Zen’in, Choso, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in.

MAPPA will continue as the animation studio, with Shota Goshozono directing and Hiroshi Seko writing the scripts. Character designs will be handled by Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa.

The returning Japanese voice cast includes Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Daisuke Namikawa as Choso, and Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu.

Based on Akutami’s manga, Jujutsu Kaisen has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The manga concluded in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2024. The anime’s first season aired in 2020–2021, followed by a second season in 2023 covering the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident arcs.

The franchise has earned major recognition, including Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2021 and 2024. The prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 grossed around $180 million globally and won Best Anime Film at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Jujutsu Kaisen is produced by Toho Animation, while Viz Media publishes the manga in the United States.
