Netflix has officially revealed Tony Tony Chopper in a brand-new teaser for One Piece Season 2 Live-Action, confirming that the beloved reindeer-doctor will appear in the upcoming season, which is now set for a 2026 release.
Chopper is voiced and facially captured by Mikaela Hoover, and fans got their first listen in the teaser dropped during Netflix Tudum 2025. His adorable design and expressive performance are already winning over audiences, as the live-action series continues its faithful adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s world.
According to Oda, Season 2 will cover the Loguetown arc through Drum Island, where Chopper is first introduced in the manga. Netflix had previously teased Chopper’s debut in 2024 but kept full details under wraps until today. Oda also shared a heartfelt message during the reveal, celebrating Chopper’s live-action debut.
The cast for Season 2 includes new characters like Crocodile, Vivi, Nico Robin, and Dr. Kureha, with filming already completed. The season aims to surpass its predecessor, which was a rare success story in the world of anime-to-live-action adaptations. Season 1 debuted in August 2023 and quickly rose to the top of Netflix’s global TV rankings.
Meanwhile, the show suffered a creative shake-up when original showrunner Matt Owens stepped away, citing personal reasons. Despite his exit, the project is moving forward with confidence. Actor Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0 / Crocodile) confirmed that filming for Season 3 will begin later in 2025, hinting that Netflix is committed to continuing the Alabasta saga and beyond.
As anticipation grows, fans now look forward to seeing the Straw Hat crew face their next big journey—with Chopper finally on board.
