ChatGPT 5 Launches With PhD-Level Knowledge and Better Coding Skills

OpenAI ChatGPT 5

OpenAI has officially launched ChatGPT 5, its most advanced AI system yet. CEO Sam Altman says using it is like “talking to an expert in any topic.” The new version brings PhD-level knowledge to users and combines all previous models into one powerful system.

What’s New in ChatGPT 5?

OpenAI says GPT-5 includes:

  • A smart base model for everyday questions
  • A deeper reasoning model for complex problems
  • A real-time router that switches between models based on your needs

Compared to earlier versions like GPT-4o and o3, GPT-5 is more accurate and smarter. In fact, OpenAI claims it is 45% less likely to give wrong answers and 80% more accurate in reasoning mode.

Smarter Coding and Design

GPT-5 is also OpenAI’s best coding model so far. It can:

  • Build websites, apps, and games from a single prompt
  • Debug large codebases
  • Create designs that are both functional and good-looking

Available in 3 Versions

ChatGPT 5 comes in three tiers:

  • Mini (auto-enabled after usage limit)
  • Regular (default for free and Plus users)
  • Pro (for $200/month with more power and features)

The Pro plan gives full access to GPT-5’s thinking mode and advanced features.

Available Now for Everyone

ChatGPT 5 is now live for all users, including those on the free plan. It replaces all older models like GPT-4, GPT-4o, o3, and o4-mini.

Altman compared GPT-5’s leap to when the iPhone got Retina Display — calling it a major improvement in clarity and experience.
