CD Projekt Red has revealed that its Witcher franchise has sold a total of 85 million copies worldwide. The figures highlight the enduring popularity of the series, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt leading the pack at 60 million units sold.
The franchise began with The Witcher in 2007, followed by The Witcher 2, which has sold 15 million copies. The success of The Witcher 3, released in 2016, helped put CD Projekt Red on the map as a top game developer. It also inspired a popular Netflix TV series, further boosting interest in the games.
Other major titles from the studio include Cyberpunk 2077, which has sold 35 million units, and Dying Light, with 20 million copies sold. According to CEO Michal Nowakowski, the first two Witcher games continue to sell well even years after their release.
The Witcher franchise’s total sales of 85 million copies solidify CD Projekt Red’s position as one of the leading Polish game developers and show the global appeal of its fantasy world.
