BTS leader RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, made headlines again by winning four awards at the 2025 Shark Music Video Awards. Despite currently serving in the military, RM’s music continues to receive worldwide recognition.
The awards ceremony took place on May 23 and honors excellence in music video production and creative work. RM won three awards for his single “Lost!” from his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person.
These included Best Music Video (Grand Prix), Best R&B/Soul Video, and Best Direction. He also won the Best Animation award for “Neva Play,” a collaboration with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
RM released Right Place, Wrong Person in May 2024, just months after enlisting. The album reflects themes of feeling out of place. His collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, Neva Play, was released last September and also gained critical acclaim.
Fans took to social media to congratulate RM on his success. Many praised his artistry and expressed pride in his achievements despite his military service.
RM is expected to complete his military duties soon, joining other BTS members who are also nearing the end of their service. With Jin and J-Hope already discharged, BTS is set for a full reunion by June 2025.
