BTS’ Jin Breaks Down Ahead of Reunion: “I’d Give a Member My Kidney”

As BTS nears its long-awaited reunion in June 2025, eldest member Jin opened up with rare emotion on the Japanese variety show Since Those Days, hosted by Arashi’s Masaki Aiba.

Though the episode featured a light cultural segment involving a Japanese tea ceremony, the tone shifted when Jin was asked, “What does the team mean to you?”

Jin’s response was heartfelt and powerful. “I think the team is made up of people who can make up for the things I lack,” he said softly. “They’re the ones who give me strength.”

Visibly moved, he added: “If a member said they were sick, I think I’d even be willing to give them a kidney.”

Fans around the world were deeply touched by the statement, especially knowing how Jin has often quietly cared for the group behind the scenes. One fan wrote, “In a world where people’s own family members don’t stay with them in sickness, Jin saying that he’d give his kidney has truly broken me.”

Jin and J-Hope were discharged in 2024, and the remaining five members—RM, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, and V—are expected to return from military duty by June 2025. This marks the group’s first full reunion since 2022, and the anticipation among ARMY is at an all-time high.
