BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and British singer Zayn Malik have joined forces for a surprise duet titled “Eyes Closed,” released on Friday. The emotional track explores the excitement and confusion of new love, blending K-pop and R&B in a soft, atmospheric sound.
Jisoo teased the release earlier in the week with the phrase “two voices, one orbit,” alongside a teaser image featuring a shadowy figure — later revealed to be Zayn.
The song opens with Jisoo’s gentle vocals: “Time is standing still and I don’t wanna leave your lips…” before Zayn responds with, “I know what you’re feeling and I know you wanna say it…” Together, they trade verses about falling for someone against the odds, ending in a chorus that captures the song’s message: “We should fall in love with our eyes closed.”
The music video matches the song’s ethereal tone. Set on a spaceship, Jisoo and Zayn appear in zero gravity, singing as they drift toward Saturn, symbolizing love that transcends space and logic.
Fans had speculated about a collaboration since July 27, when Zayn attended BLACKPINK’s New York concert with his daughter, Khai, and later thanked the group on social media.
“Eyes Closed” marks Jisoo’s first release since her solo EP Amortage in February, while Zayn prepares for his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live, beginning January 20, 2026.
The duet has quickly gained attention online, praised for its chemistry, emotional lyrics, and cinematic visuals — proving that even the most unexpected pairings can create something timeless.
