Billie Eilish has shared snippets of two new songs during an interview with CBS News, revealing she’s back to making music with her brother and collaborator, Finneas.
Speaking with Anthony Mason, Eilish admitted to struggling with writer’s block this year. “It never is comfortable… You’re like, ‘What the hell?! I’m never gonna create again,’” she said.
However, she’s overcome the hurdle, setting up a makeshift recording studio in her backstage greenroom during her Hit Me Hard And Soft world tour.
She played clips of two tracks, one featuring her vocals over piano and another with her signature breathy delivery atop a drumbeat. “It’s just so much fun,” she said, describing the process as casual and freeing.
Eilish’s third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, has been a major success, earning multiple Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year.
Her single Birds Of A Feather is also up for Record and Song of the Year. Reflecting on the nominations, Eilish called them “the craziest thing in the world.”
Currently on tour in North America, Eilish will perform six nights at The O2 in London next summer as part of her UK and Ireland dates.
In addition to her music, Eilish recently called Rihanna “the greatest of all time” and expressed her desire to collaborate with the singer.
