Beyoncé has set a new record with her Cowboy Carter Tour, earning $407.6 million from just 32 shows, making it the highest-grossing country tour ever recorded by Billboard Boxscore.
The tour supported her Grammy-winning album Cowboy Carter and sold 1.6 million tickets at an average price of $255. Beyoncé reached the $400 million milestone in only 90 days, making this the shortest tour ever to cross that mark. It outpaced her own Renaissance World Tour from 2023, which earned $579.8 million over 56 shows.
The tour, officially called Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour, started on April 28 in Inglewood, California, and ended on July 26 in Las Vegas. It visited nine cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, London, and Paris, with multiple shows in each. Beyoncé performed five nights at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, earning $70.3 million, and six nights in London, grossing $61.6 million.
The tour broke more than 40 venue records, including for most sold-out shows. Her five-night run at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles earned $55.7 million, the highest single-venue total by a female artist in Boxscore history.
With an average of $12.7 million per show and nearly 50,000 fans per night, Beyoncé reached new career highs. She is now the first woman and American artist to have two tours earn more than $400 million, joining acts like Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, and Ed Sheeran.
The Cowboy Carter album, released in March 2024, played a big role in the tour’s success. It was the first album by a Black woman to top the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The hit single “Texas Hold ’Em” also reached No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
The tour featured mechanical bulls, floating platforms, and a 39-song setlist, celebrating Black history in country music. Some praised its cultural message, while others criticized it for avoiding political topics. A small controversy came from a cease-and-desist letter from Las Vegas’ Sphere venue over visual content.
Beyoncé’s Houston shows at NRG Stadium had an average ticket price of $516, with fans traveling an average of 260 miles to attend. Her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi, joined her on stage for songs like “Protector,” adding a personal touch.
With this tour, Beyoncé’s total career earnings from live shows now exceed $1.75 billion across 463 performances, making her the highest-grossing Black artist in history.
