“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” is an upcoming MCU film set for 2026.
It will unite diverse heroes to face the formidable Kang the Conqueror, with a new director and writer crafting an epic narrative that will push heroes and the universe to their limits.
Avengers 5 is currently scheduled to hit the cinemas on May 1, 2026. However, this release date has been delayed by a year from its initial release date of May 2, 2025, due to some behind-the-scenes changes and reworking of the movie.
There has been some confusion regarding Robert Downey Jr.’s potential return as Iron Man in Avengers 5 or the subsequent Avengers: Secret Wars. While Downey Jr. has expressed his willingness to reprise the role, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, where Iron Man was killed off, have expressed their doubts about how his character could be brought back.
Jonathan Majors, who played the villain Kang the Conqueror (or his variants) in Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, has been dropped by Marvel after being found guilty of assault and harassment charges in December 2023. This has led to uncertainties regarding Kang’s role as the main villain in Avengers 5.
With the departure of Jonathan Majors and the minimization of Kang’s role, the plot of Avengers 5 remains uncertain. Originally, it was expected to build upon the events of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, where a council of Kangs, led by Immortus, was revealed. However, with the changes, a new villain or storyline may be introduced, likely setting up the events for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is now scheduled for May 7, 2027.
As of now, there is no trailer or footage available for Avengers 5, as the release is still two years away. Fans can expect to see the first glimpse of the movie, possibly in the form of a teaser trailer, sometime in 2025.
Stay tuned for more updates and official announcements from Marvel regarding Avengers 5 as the release date approaches.
