AT&T Data Breach: How to Check If You’re Affected

77
AT&T

AT&T recently disclosed a major data breach affecting nearly all of its wireless customers.

Hackers accessed call and text records between May 1 and October 31, 2022, and on January 2, 2023.

Here’s how to determine if your data was compromised:

  1. Check your AT&T account: Log in and request a detailed report of your call and text records for the affected period.
  2. Wait for notification: AT&T plans to inform impacted customers via text, email, or mail.
  3. Stay vigilant: Monitor your accounts for suspicious activity and be cautious of potential phishing attempts.
  4. Take precautions: Consider changing passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and freezing your credit reports.

While the breach didn’t include sensitive personal information like Social Security numbers or financial details, the exposed data could still pose risks. Customers should remain alert and take proactive steps to protect their information.
