Apple TV+ is heading back to space.

The streamer has confirmed that Star City will premiere on May 29, the same day For All Mankind wraps up its fifth season.

The new series is a direct spinoff of For All Mankind. It will launch with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through July 10.

While For All Mankind tells an alternate history where the global space race never ended, Star City flips the perspective. This time, the story focuses on the Soviet space program and what happened behind the Iron Curtain.

Apple describes the show as a “propulsive paranoid thriller.” It explores the moment the Soviet Union becomes the first nation to land a man on the Moon, and follows the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers who risk everything to make it happen.

The series stars Rhys Ifans, known for his role in House of the Dragon. It also comes from the same creative team behind For All Mankind, including Ronald D. Moore, Ben Nedivi, and Matt Wolpert.

Fans of the original show will not have long to wait. As soon as season five ends, Star City begins — keeping the space drama going without a break.

Apple TV+ costs $12.99 per month, with bundle options available through Apple One. And if the hype is anything to go by, sci-fi fans might want to clear their schedule for May 29.
