Apple Prepares M5 MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini for Late 2025 Launch

Apple is reportedly preparing a full lineup of new Mac models, including updates for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, according to a new report from AppleInsider.

The leaked list of internal identifiers suggests that M5 chip upgrades are coming to most Macs later this year, while M6-based MacBook Pros with OLED displays and a thinner design are expected in late 2026.

M5 Macs Likely Launching in Late 2025

The report says Apple will refresh several models this year with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips, continuing its shift to next-gen Apple Silicon:

  • MacBook Pro (14-inch & 16-inch) – M5 Pro and M5 Max versions
  • iMac – Updated with the base M5 chip
  • Mac mini – Including a version with M5 Pro
  • Mac Studio – Two models are in the works
  • MacBook Air (13-inch and 15-inch) – Also expected to get M5 chips

Apple may also update the Mac Pro, though it’s unclear if that will arrive this year or in 2026.

M6 MacBook Pros Expected in 2026

Next year, Apple is reportedly planning M6-based MacBook Pros with significant upgrades:

  • OLED displays
  • Thinner design
  • M6 Pro and M6 Max chips

These changes would mark the first major design update to MacBook Pros in years.
