Apple is preparing to expand its artificial intelligence features for business use, moving beyond its current partnership with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
According to a report from TechCrunch, the upcoming iOS 26 update will include support for an enterprise version of ChatGPT, offering higher usage limits, stronger privacy controls, and options for company data integration.
More importantly, Apple’s system is designed with flexibility in mind. Support documents show that IT administrators will be able to allow or block any external AI provider, not just OpenAI. This could open the door for integrations with Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft enterprise AI services in the future.
Businesses will also have greater control over how employees use AI. Companies can choose which AI features to enable and decide whether staff requests are sent to ChatGPT’s cloud services—even if the company doesn’t have its own enterprise deal with OpenAI.
Beyond AI integration, Apple is also improving its enterprise device management tools. New APIs for IT systems, migration tools, and updates to its Return to Service solution are all expected to make it easier for businesses to manage large fleets of Apple devices.
Apple has not yet publicly confirmed any AI partnerships beyond OpenAI, but the new enterprise options suggest the company is building a more open system that could accommodate multiple providers in the future.
