Apple Plans No Vision Pro 2 in 2025, Shifts Focus to Lower-Cost VR Headset

Apple fans hoping for a Vision Pro refresh in 2025 will have to wait longer. According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Apple has no plans to release the Vision Pro 2 in 2025, with new hardware likely launching in 2026 instead.

While some analysts, including Ming Chi-Kuo, had speculated that the Vision Pro 2 would be ready for production by the second half of 2025, Gurman’s report suggests that Apple’s more immediate focus is on developing a more affordable headset.

The cheaper headset, codenamed N107, is still not expected to launch in 2025, but Apple is accelerating its development.

Gurman describes the cheaper headset as an “urgent goal” for Apple, with the company prioritizing it over other projects.

The device will likely cost less than the premium Vision Pro, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Additionally, Apple is exploring other wearable tech, including a version of Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses and AirPods-like vision devices with built-in cameras. These projects are expected to be further out, with no specific timeline yet.

While the Vision Pro 2 may not arrive in 2025, Apple’s focus on cheaper and more accessible wearables suggests exciting developments for the future.

Stay tuned for more updates as Apple ramps up its work on these new products.
