Apple Music has launched a groundbreaking new feature called Sound Therapy, designed to enhance users’ well-being through tailored audio experiences.

In collaboration with Universal Music Group (UMG), Sound Therapy is aimed at helping listeners achieve clearer focus, deeper relaxation, and better sleep.

The feature remixes popular songs in Apple Music with scientifically designed sound waves, providing a unique twist on familiar tracks.

Sound Therapy blends these sound waves with the original music, retaining the artist’s vision while also utilizing psychoacoustics, cognitive science, and sound wave research to promote wellness.

Sound Therapy will be available through three specialized playlists inside the Music app:

  • Sound Therapy: Focus
  • Sound Therapy: Relax
  • Sound Therapy: Sleep

Each playlist is crafted to produce specific auditory effects that help users reach their wellness goals. For instance, gamma waves and white noise—a whoosh-like sound of combined frequencies—are used to enhance focus, while theta waves assist with relaxation.

Additionally, delta waves and pink noise, resembling natural sounds like rain or wind, help users unwind for a restful sleep.

This feature is available to Apple Music subscribers, who can access it with an active account. Subscriptions start at $5.99 for students and $10.99 for individual users.

Sound Therapy follows the recent introduction of Apple Music’s Viral playlist, which keeps users updated on the latest global music trends, showcasing the company’s ongoing efforts to merge entertainment with well-being in the digital age.
