Apple continues to dominate the US smartphone market, holding 53% of the share in Q3 2024, according to Counterpoint Research.

Samsung trails behind with 23%, while Lenovo (mainly Motorola) holds 14%. Surprisingly, HMD (Nokia) secured only 1%, with “others” accounting for 9%.

Apple’s market share has remained stable, consistently at around 53% for the past three quarters. Samsung, however, saw a drop from 31% in Q1 2024.

Despite an overall 6% decline in the market compared to Q3 2023, Motorola’s shipments rose by 21%, mainly due to strong prepaid sales of the Moto G Play 2024.

Apple’s shipments dropped 5% YoY, while Samsung’s declined 13%. Google saw a 19% increase in shipments, boosted by an earlier launch of the Pixel 9 series.
