Andrew Garfield has addressed rumors about playing Jesus in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film The Life of Jesus.
In a recent interview, Garfield clarified that the rumors are not true to his knowledge, stating that he cannot just wait for Scorsese to call, as the director only makes a film every few years.
Garfield also mentioned that Scorsese often works with Leonardo DiCaprio, suggesting he can’t just wait around for a potential reunion.
While Garfield did not completely rule out the possibility of joining the project, it seems unlikely for now.
Scorsese’s The Life of Jesus is still in development, and filming was expected to begin in late 2024, although logistical challenges, particularly in Israel, may delay this further.
Despite this, Garfield’s previous work with Scorsese, particularly in Silence, has earned him critical acclaim, making him a strong candidate for future collaborations.
