A Reddit user, Pebblestar, claims to have played an early test version of GTA 6 and has shared details about the game’s world. Although the information is difficult to verify, it seems plausible based on previous Rockstar Games titles.
Pebblestar, who posted from a disposable account to maintain anonymity, alleged that they visited Rockstar Games’ offices for professional reasons in 2024, where they had the chance to experience the game firsthand. The post has since been deleted.
According to Pebblestar, GTA 6 features an exceptionally realistic game world. Objects in the environment are said to interact with the player in a more dynamic way, with smaller items, like discarded coffee cups, no longer being static 2D textures.
The game world also responds to weather changes, with traffic signs swaying in the wind, puddles forming in potholes during rain, and gradually evaporating under the sun. After traffic accidents, wreckage causes traffic jams, and road workers repair the damage while tow trucks remove the debris.
However, the authenticity of these claims remains uncertain. Rockstar Games is known for its tight security, and it’s unlikely an outsider could gain access to a test build. Despite this, many of the details Pebblestar shared align with what we’ve seen in early GTA 6 trailers and Rockstar’s past work.
The game is expected to build on the advanced weather system seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, and job postings from Rockstar mention work on destruction and weather systems, lending some credibility to the leak.
