Alan Wake 2 now runs faster and uses less VRAM thanks to NVIDIA’s new RTX Mega Geometry technology.

A recent comparison video by Compusemble shows the survival-horror game running on an RTX 4090 at 4K resolution with DLAA, DLSS Quality, and high path tracing before and after the latest update.

The results? A 13% average performance boost and lower VRAM usage.

What Makes RTX Mega Geometry Special?

RTX Mega Geometry is part of NVIDIA’s new tech suite for RTX 50 series GPUs, but the improvements are noticeable even on RTX 40 series cards.

The RTX 5090 and 5080, which have 4th-generation ray tracing cores, should see even better results once tested.

This update is part of a bigger graphics overhaul by NVIDIA, which also includes:

  • Multi Frame Generation, which creates more frames than DLSS Frame Generation.
  • DLSS Super Resolution powered by a Transformer model, offering better detail and image quality.

While Multi Frame Generation is exclusive to RTX 50 GPUs, all other upgrades, including RTX Mega Geometry, work on all RTX cards.

Alan Wake 2 is available now for $79.99, with NVIDIA’s latest tech making it run better than ever.
