After multiple delays and a change of development studio, Ubisoft confirmed that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake will arrive before April 2026, during their next fiscal year.
Originally scheduled for early 2021, the project has seen a rough journey, including reportedly restarting development and uncertainty over whether key original contributors—like creator Jordan Mechner and iconic English voice actor Yuri Lowenthal—are still involved.
The remake is now officially listed as one of Ubisoft’s key upcoming titles expected to contribute to their FY2025-2026 earnings, alongside games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Rainbow Six Mobile.
With the fiscal year already underway, fans might expect announcements soon, potentially at the upcoming Summer Game Fest.
The original Prince of Persia remains a beloved classic, known for its innovative gameplay and storytelling, including its unique time-rewinding mechanic.
While fans are eager, there’s cautious optimism due to the remake’s troubled development history.
