Adobe Cancels Cheapest Photoshop Plan, Price Hike for Existing Subscribers

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe has announced that it will no longer accept new signups for its 20GB Photography Plan starting January 15, 2024.

However, existing subscribers will still have access to the plan, though their monthly bill will rise from $10 to $15.

The Impact on Users

While new customers won’t be able to sign up for this plan, those already subscribed will face the price hike.

This change follows Adobe’s ongoing transition to a subscription model for its software, which has drawn criticism from some users.

Customer Reactions

The move has sparked a variety of reactions. Some users, like Ed, are critical of Adobe’s subscription-based model, preferring to stick with older versions like CS6.

Others, such as Henri, have migrated to alternatives like Affinity and Canva. Many argue that Adobe’s pricing structure and terms, including the rights to content stored in the cloud, are increasingly problematic.

This change adds to the growing sentiment that Adobe’s pricing and policies may drive users to explore other options in the market.
