The 2024 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ceremony took place on Thursday, May 16th at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. Country superstar Reba McEntire hosted the exciting evening, celebrating the biggest names and achievements in country music over the past year.
Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton emerged as the night’s big winners, each taking home three ACM Awards, including Wilson winning the coveted Entertainer of the Year honor. Luke Combs received the Single of the Year award for his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” after leading this year’s nominees with eight nominations.
One of the most emotional moments came when Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson accepted the Music Event of the Year award for their collaboration “Save Me.” A tearful Jelly Roll expressed his disbelief at standing on that stage.
The show also featured a surprise duet between Chris Stapleton and pop star Dua Lipa on Stapleton’s “Think I’m in Love With You.” Lipa revealed backstage that they had been planning this performance for some time, as she is a big fan of the country singer.
Other performers included Kelsea Ballerini, Post Malone, Noah Kahan, Gwen Stefani and more, making it a star-studded celebration of country music. Known as “Country Music’s Party of the Year,” the 2024 ACMs delivered an unforgettable night honoring the genre’s top acts.
