Blackmagic Android App

Blackmagic Design has released its popular Blackmagic Camera app for Android smartphones, bringing professional-grade video features to mobile devices.

The app, which was previously only available on iOS, is now free to download on the Google Play Store for compatible Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices.

The Blackmagic Camera app offers a range of advanced controls and features typically found in high-end digital film cameras. Users can adjust settings like frame rate, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and color space, as well as access tools like focus peaking, histograms, and audio meters.

The app also integrates seamlessly with Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve video editing software and Blackmagic Cloud, allowing users to upload footage directly to their post-production workflows.

While the app is currently limited to select Samsung and Google Pixel models running Android 13 or newer, Blackmagic Design has hinted at potential future support for additional Android devices.

This release marks a significant expansion of the Blackmagic Camera app’s reach, providing more smartphone users with access to professional-level video tools and the ability to capture cinematic-quality footage directly from their mobile devices.
