Samsung is gearing up to release the next generation of its popular Galaxy Buds, the Galaxy Buds 3.

With a slew of new features and design changes, these earbuds promise to be a significant upgrade over their predecessors. Here’s what we know so far.

Design and Features

The Galaxy Buds 3 are expected to have a brand-new design, which will improve active noise cancellation (ANC) and microphone quality. This could mean a shift away from the bean-like form factor of the Galaxy Buds 2 and towards a more stem-based design similar to the Apple AirPods Pro 2 or the Nothing Ear (1).

Battery Life and AI Integration

The new design is also expected to enable longer battery life by incorporating bigger cells. Additionally, Samsung is rumored to be integrating generative AI features into the Galaxy Buds 3, which could enhance their performance and functionality.

Other Features

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is expected to come with a real-time translation feature, allowing users to communicate in different languages without the need for internet connectivity. The earbuds may also feature a heart rate sensor and improved ANC and call quality.

Release and Price

The Galaxy Buds 3 are expected to be released in Q3 2024, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The price is rumored to be around $149 for the standard Galaxy Buds 3 and higher for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

What We Want to See

While we wait for the official release, here are some features we hope to see in the Galaxy Buds 3:

  1. Improved Touch Input: The Galaxy Buds 2 have inconsistent touch-based input. We hope Samsung improves this feature to make it more reliable and user-friendly.
  2. Higher IP Rating: The Galaxy Buds 2 have an outdated IPX2 water-resistance rating. We expect the Galaxy Buds 3 to have a higher rating, such as IPX4, for better protection against sweat and light rain.
  3. OLED Case Display: Samsung showcased a Galaxy Buds concept with an OLED display on the case. We hope this feature makes it to the Galaxy Buds 3, allowing users to control settings and music without needing their phones.
  4. AI-Powered Features: Samsung’s latest smartphones rely heavily on AI. We expect the Galaxy Buds 3 to incorporate AI features to improve performance, battery life, and audio quality.

The Galaxy Buds 3 promise to be a significant upgrade over their predecessors, with improved design, features, and performance.

With the release date and price rumors circulating, we can’t wait to get our hands on these earbuds and see how they stack up against the competition.
