Apple has officially revealed AirPods Max 2.

The new over-ear headphones come with Apple’s H2 chip, which already powers AirPods Pro. The upgrade brings much stronger Active Noise Cancellation. Apple says ANC is now up to 1.5 times more effective than before.

Transparency mode also gets an improvement. Apple says it now sounds more natural thanks to a new processing system powered by H2.

The H2 chip replaces the older H1 chip found in the first AirPods Max. It also unlocks several new features that were not available before.

AirPods Max 2 now support Live Translation, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Loud Sound Reduction. Users also get studio-quality audio recording, Siri head gesture controls, and a Camera Remote feature.

Like the previous model, the new headphones support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio when connected with a USB-C cable.

AirPods Max 2 will cost $549. Orders open on March 25, and shipping starts in early April.

The headphones come in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue.

Apple has not announced any major design changes. The overall look remains the same as the previous model.
