Apple Could Freeze iPhone 18 Pro Price Despite Rising Chip Costs

Apple may not raise the price of the iPhone 18 Pro this year. New reports claim the upcoming Pro models could cost the same as the current iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple is likely to keep prices steady when the new phones launch in the second half of 2026. If true, the iPhone 18 Pro would start at $1,099 and the Pro Max at $1,199.

This comes even as memory and chip prices rise across the tech industry. Many companies are facing higher costs due to strong demand for AI servers and storage components.

Kuo says Apple plans to absorb those extra costs instead of passing them on to customers. He believes Apple is using the current “memory market chaos” to secure better deals and grow its market share.

Another analyst, Jeff Pu of GF Securities, shared a similar view. In a research note, he said Apple is focusing on cost management and negotiating better prices for memory chips and other parts like cameras and displays.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch first, likely in September 2026. The standard iPhone 18 may arrive later, possibly next year.

If Apple keeps prices the same, it would go against the trend. Samsung recently raised prices on its Galaxy S26 series, and other brands may follow. For now, iPhone fans could be getting a rare bit of good news.
